Audinst HUD MiNi
I need a DAC to enhance my enjoyment listening to music, Audinst HUD MiNi spec is 24-bits/96khz. It is good enough for now, I bought it for $110 at around early 2012.

It has serve me really well, good for both music and video.

Audinst HUD MiNi, opamp rolling with LME 49720HA
Reply #1
Living in Seoul, South Korea really give me a lot of choice and easiness to get opamp, before I replaced the original LME49860 with LME49720HA I did search on the web and seem like people love the thin can aluminium of the LME49720HA, so I just bought it from the online web in Seoul for around $10.

The sound is good, the lower sub-bass is punchy and suit me well (I am bit of a basshead).

I think around 6 months of my purchased, I got some crazy idea to increase the power wattage to expect the bass sound more deeper and louder. I use external power instead of the standard USB 5V max 500ma, I use a 1Ma 7.5V power brick and create some USB extension cable to split the data and the power line of the USB, at first this DAC can power-up, the LED is on and the windows can detect it normally, BUT I could not hear any sound from the output and also the LED should be blinking during audio playback but it does not blink, I try to unplug and plug it back but nothing change, then I take out the external power from the loop and just connect it directly to the notebook but unfortunately this DAC is giving the same behavior with only showing LED ON but nothing happen, so I thought this DAC is death because over voltage (7.5V vs 5V), then I send it back to the vendor and I received a fixed DAC (not new) and I never try to destroy it again .. lol :-P

Audinst HUD MiNi, the front panel with DUAL headphone output.
The first thing that I love about this DAC is its DUAL headphone output, there is no signal interference or decreasing louder when I use 2 headphones instead of 1, so it is very convenient and nicely designed.

This feature allow me to compare some of my headphones/IEMs directly without plugging and unplugging the cable.

There is line-out switch on the front and the RCA line-out in the back, but I dont use it. I got Fiio E12 headphone amplifier which has line-in but until now I have not try to get the line-out of this DAC to feed the Fiio E12.

The back panel is very simple, a USB input from computer, RCA jack line-out and Optical Out (which I have never use).
